Canada drubbed Uruguay for the third win at the FIBA Americas Championship in Caracas. Andrew Nicholson posted 18 points to lead the North Americans to the victory. Canada finished second in preliminary Group A action. Uruguay occupied the third position in the ladder. Canada set the tone early in the encounter. They went on a storming 29:11 run in the first frame. Canada stretched the lead in the second stanza. They ensured a 51:25 halftime lead. Canada unloaded 24 points in the third quarter to enter the fourth period up by 27 points. Uruguay never recovered as Canada coasted to the victory. Cory Joseph produced 17 points, while Tristan Thompson added 14 points in the win. Bruno Fitipaldo answered with 18 points for Uruguay. Emilio Taboada had 14 points in the loss.
