Second Stage Day 6: ARGENTINA - PUERTO RICO 80-94

Puerto Rico stayed on the winning track in Caracas. They defeated Argentina for the fifth straight win at the tournament. Renaldo Balkman finished with 23 points to pace the effort. Argentina entered the game firing from all guns. They accounted for 23 points in the opening frame to take a 9-point lead. But Puerto Rico quickly bounced back. They shifted the gear in the second stanza. Puerto Rico unleashed 30 points to cut the deficit at 5-point mark at halftime. Puerto Rico went on a massive 26:13 run in the third term to record an 8-point lead at the final intermission. Puerto Rico fired 24 points in the fourth period and sealed the victory. Carlos Arroyo chipped in 19 points, while Jose Juan Barea added 13 points for the winners. Luis Scola answered with 23 points for Argentina. Selem Safar had 15 points in the defeat.
