Mexico earned the second straight win at the second stage of FIBA Americas Championship. They knocked down Jamaica to gain 4-2 record in the ladder. Hector Hernandez nailed 25 points to pace the winners. Jamaica slipped at 1-5 record after the loss. Jamaica snatched a 20:19 lead after ten minutes of action. The Caribbean team maintained the lead throughout the second term. Jamaica ensured a 46:44 halftime lead. But Mexico turned things their way in the third term. They unloaded 25 points to eke out a one-point lead heading into the fourth stanza 69:68. Mexico exploded with 31 points in the final period and ran away with the victory at the end. Orlando Mendez-Valdez had 22 points, while Gustavo Ayon finished with 19 points for the winning side. Jerome Jordan answered with 24 points for Jamaica. Patrick Ewing Jr. and Akeem Scott had 17 points each in the loss.
