Second Stage Day 9: URUGUAY - DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 78-86

Dominican Republic advanced into the semifinal round of 2013 FIBA Americas Championship. They fired past Uruguay to improve at 5-2 record in the second stage ladder. Jack Michael Martinez stepped up with 17 points and 10 rebounds as Dominican Republic also qualified for the 2014 World Championship. Uruguay snatched a narrow 19:17 lead after the opening frame. But Dominican Republic gradually picked up the tempo. They narrowed the deficit at one point 39:40 at halftime. The Caribbean team pulled ahead in the third term. Dominican Republic went on a 21:14 run to surge ahead. They fired 26 points in the fourth stanza and sealed a confident win at the end. James Feldeine finished with 14 points, while Francisco Garcia, Eloy Camacho and Eulis Baez added 13 points each in the win. Esteban Batista answered with 21 points and 13 boards for Uruguay. Leandro Garcia Morales chipped in 16 points in the defeat.
