Semi-Finals Game 10: MEXICO - ARGENTINA 76-70

Mexico became the first finalists at the FIBA Americas Championship. They held off Argentina to book the place in the title game. Gustavo Ayon stepped up with 24 points and 12 boards to pace the winners. Mexico grabbed a 20:14 lead after the opening quarter. Argentina bounced back in the second frame. Luis Scola and his teammated put together a comeback rally that propelled them to a 37:33 halftime lead. Argentina stayed aggressive offensively throughout the third term. They knocked down 21 points in the period and secured a 5-point lead heading into the fourth frame. But Mexico turned things around in the final quarter. They held Argentina to just 12 points in the frame and used an 8:2 run late in the encounter to seal the victory. Lorenzo Real and Hector Hernandez finished with 9 points each for the winners. Luis Scola responded with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for Argentina. Facundo Campazzo added 14 points in the victory.
