Regular Season Round 2: Toyota Alvark - Tochigi Brex 98-78
Date: September 29, 2013
No shocking result in a game in Tokyo where top-ranked Toyota Alvark (2-0) smashed bottom-ranked Tochigi Brex (0-2) 98-78. Toyota Alvark forced 21 Tochigi Brex turnovers. The former international guard Keijuro Matsui (188-85, college: Columbia) notched 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American forward Jeff Jeffrey (188-80, college: Otterbein) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds by American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) did not help to save the game for Tochigi Brex. The former international guard Yuta Tabuse (173-80, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 21 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Tochigi Brex at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it will be for sure the game of the week.
