Senegal clinched the AfroBasket Bronze medals. They held off Cameroon in Maputo in the consolation final tonight. Astou Traore produced 14 points in the win. Senegal set the tone early in the game. They opened a 17:13 lead after the opening quarter. Senegal boosted their lead in the second quarter. They accounted for a 28:23 halftime advantage. Cameroon narrowed the deficit in the third term. They pulled within 2 points at the final intermission 37:39. Senegal held on to the advantage in the fourth period and escaped with a narrow victory. Mame-Marie Sy-Diop chipped in 13 points, while Oumoul Thiam had 11 points for Senegal. Cameroon answered with 13 points from Priscilla MBiandja. Nicole Senkeu Jamen and Amina Njonkou had 11 points apiece in the loss.
