Regular Season Round 4: Olimpas - Silute 70-78

Bottom-ranked Olimpas (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 78-70 loss to seventh ranked Silute (3-1) in Plunge on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Olimpas won fourth quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Olimpas 38-18 including a 31-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Tomas Lekunas (200-93) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Evaldas Saulys (196-93) who added 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Silute players scored in double figures. At the losing side French forward Dainius Vaitelis (200-86) responded with 17 points and point guard Elvinas Gintvainis (182-92) scored 6 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Silute moved-up to third place, which they share with Mazeikiai and TiuMenas-Ezer. Loser Olimpas still closes the standings with four games lost. Silute will meet at home Triobet (#6) in the next round. Olimpas will play against Zanavykas (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
