Regular Season Round 1: Pyrinto - Tln Kalev 75-54

The biggest surprise of round 1 in Baltic League took place in Tampere where host Finnish Tampereen Pyrinto (1-0) crushed Estonian Tln Kalev (1-1) 75-54 on Sunday evening. Tampereen Pyrinto forced 21 Tln Kalev turnovers. American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston, agency: IBS) fired 21 points for the winners. Center Antti Nikkila (210-78, college: Valparaiso) chipped in 2 points and 16 rebounds. point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Kaido Saks (207-86) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tln Kalev will play next round against Valmiera trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Tampereen Pyrinto will try to continue on its current victory against Jekabpils at home.
