NBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Kumamoto V. (0-6) 100-87. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Aishin Sea Horses made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Aishin Sea Horses especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. The best player for the winners was American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) chipped in 26 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Lamont Jones (183, college: Iona) who recorded 26 points and 9 assists and his fellow American import forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 23 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Mitsubishi DD. Newly promoted Kumamoto V. still closes the standings with six games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be Hyogo S. (#5) at home. Kumamoto V. will play against Tsukuba R. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
