Very significant was Tochigi Brex's (#5) just 3-point road victory against 4th placed Hokkaido L.. Hokkaido L. was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 31-23 charge of Tochigi Brex, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Tochigi Brex especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for international swingman Takatoshi Furukawa (190-87, agency: Norton Sports Management) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Furukawa is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tsukuba R. Hokkaido L. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hokkaido L. will play again at home against Tochigi Brex (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
