Regular Season Round 7: Wakayama T. - Mitsubishi DD 84-71

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Mitsubishi Dolphins (6-1) on the court of third ranked Wakayama T. on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Wakayama T. 84-71. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Mitsubishi Dolphins. The game was mostly controlled by Wakayama T.. Mitsubishi Dolphins managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) helped adding 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Wakayama T. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bahamas power forward Magnum Rolle (211-86, college: Louisiana Tech) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Mitsubishi Dolphins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Wakayama T. maintains third place with 3-2 record having five points less than leader Aishin SH. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Toshiba BT. Wakayama T. are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Mitsubishi Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will have a break next round.
