The game between closely ranked teams ended with leader Osaka Evessa's (3-0) road victory over 6th ranked Oita Heat Devils (2-3) 90-86 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Osaka Evessa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners and swingman Yosuke Sugawara (187-83) chipped in 13 points. American forward Devonne Giles (203-83, college: Texas Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) scored 22 points and 9 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Osaka Evessa. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyama Grouses and Kyoto Hannar. Loser Oita Heat Devils dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Osaka Evessa (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
