Regular Season Round 6: Shiga L-Stars - Okinawa GK 79-71

Round 6 in BJ League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Shiga where host Shiga L-Stars (4-2) beat league's leader Okinawa GK (4-2) 79-71 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Okinawa GK. The game without a history. Shiga L-Stars led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American forward Marshall Brown (199-85, college: Missouri) who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The other American import guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Naoto Kosuge (187-82) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Okinawa GK. Okinawa GK will play next round against Fukuoka Rizing trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
