South Korea victoriously opened their Asian Championship campaign. They defeated the defending champions China in thriller today. Kwak Joo-Young nailed a buzzer-beating jumper to propel the Korean side to the win. South Korea recorded a 17:14 lead after the starting quarter. They stayed in front throughout the second term. The Korean team established a 34:29 halftime lead. South Korea maintained their advantage in the third term. They dropped 21 points and secured a 6-point lead heading into the final stanza. But China denied the deficit in the fourth term. Zhao tied things up at 70 with 16 seconds to go. But Kwak Joo-Young came up with a buzzer-beater to win the game for South Korea. Kim Jung Eun came up with 19 points to pace the effort. Kwak Joo-Young Joo-Yeong added 13 points, while Lim Yung Hui added 11 points in the win. Wen Lu responded with 24 points for China. Chen Nan added 10 points in the loss.
