Regular Season Round 3: Hapoel J-M - Hapoel Eilat 91-75

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Winner League took place in Jerusalem where host Hapoel Jerusalem (1-2) beat Hapoel Eilat (2-1) 91-75 on Monday evening. Hapoel Eilat was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for Hapoel Jerusalem especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Yotam Halperin (196-84) who scored 19 points and 5 assists. American point guard Derwin Kitchen (193-86, college: Florida St.) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach Brad Greenberg used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Christian Watford (206-91, college: Indiana) who recorded 21 points and the other American import forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Hapoel Eilat will play next round against GreenTops Netanya trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Hapoel Jerusalem will try to continue on its current victory against Maccabi Rishon in Rishon Le-Zion.
