Regular Season Round 6: Schwelm - Stade 85-55
Date: November 2, 2013
Very expected game when 7th ranked Stade (2-4) was crushed on the road by third ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (5-1) 85-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. SG Schwelmer Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Stade to just 5 points in fourth quarter. SG Schwelmer Baskets made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Stade 43-22 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Anthony Pettaway (203-87, college: Defiance) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Sebastian Schroter (207-83) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four SG Schwelmer Baskets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Reggie Hopkins (180-88, college: Queens, NC) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian forward Ismar Seferagic (201-94) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SG Schwelmer Baskets have an impressive five-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Rist Wedel lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Group North. Stade lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with four games lost. SG Schwelmer Baskets will face RSV Eintracht (#6) in Stahnsdorf in the next round where they are favorite. Stade will play on the road against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel and hope to win that game.
