There will be a new champion in Asia. South Korea edge the defending champions China tonight in the semifinal clash in Bangkok. Beon Yeonha scored 22 points and issued 6 assists to lead the winners. China dropped 22 points in the first frame and opened a 4-point lead. But South Korea slowed their opponents down in the second frame. They cut the deficit at 2-point mark 36:34 at the interval. China were back in the drivers seat in the third term. They held the Korean team to 12 points in the third quarter and secured a 6-point advantage before the fourth frame. But the Korean side turned things around in the final period. Yeon Ha Beon notched five points late in regulation to give South Korea a 68:64 lead. YanYan Ji put China within two points but Kim Jung Eun drained a three-pointer to seal the victory for the Korean side. She finished with 11 points, while Sin Jung Ja contributed 14 points for the winners. Chen Nan responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds for China. Gao Song had 14 points in the loss.
