Regular Season Round 9: LF Basket - Solna 104-101

Important game to mention about took place in Lulea. Eighth ranked LF Basket (2-6) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Solna Vikings (4-5) 104-101 on Tuesday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 35-22. But Solna Vikings won second period 29-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. LF Basket shot 60.6 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for LF Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Solna Vikings were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international center Johan Akesson (210-84, agency: Warren Sports International) stepped up and scored 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Christopher Ryan (196-90) chipped in 21 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Jim Nystrom (194-82, college: Georgia Tech) with 34 points (!!!) (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Mats Levin (189-77) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 assists. Four LF Basket and five Solna Vikings players scored in double figures. LF Basket maintains eighth place with 2-6 record. Solna Vikings at the other side keep the sixth position with five games lost. LF Basket will play against Eco Orebro (#9) on the road in the next round. Solna Vikings will play against the league's leader Boras Basket where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
