Regular Season Round 7: MBA Moscow - Irkut-2 76-82

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated MBA Moscow (3-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Irkut-2 (1-5) 82-76. MBA Moscow trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 23-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 76-82 at the end of the game. Irkut-2 forced 22 MBA Moscow turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Dmitriy Lagunov (-87) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 5 steals. Forward Aleksandr Balakirev (205-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Alexander Tikhonin (205-92) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Ivan Vadeev (200-93) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for MBA Moscow. MBA Moscow's coach Valeri Sizov rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Irkut-2 went down to eighth position due to points difference. MBA Moscow at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Dynamo-MGTU. Irkut-2 are looking forward to face league's leader BK Tambov on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MBA Moscow will have a break next round.
