Regular Season Round 9: Vilnius-MRU - Trakai 68-56

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Trakai (7-1) on the court of tenth ranked Vilnius-MRU on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Vilnius-MRU 68-56. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Trakai. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-56. Vilnius-MRU forced 20 Trakai turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Trakai helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Paulius Semaska (186-93) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Vilnius-MRU players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Rytis Juknevicius (187-93) with 18 points and forward Andrius Slezas (200-75) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Vilnius-MRU (4-5) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zanavykas and Suduva-Mantinga. Newly promoted Trakai still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Mazeikiai. Vilnius-MRU is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Palanga (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trakai will play against Silute (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
