Regular Season Round 6: Geneve Lions - Neuchatel 91-84

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Neuchatel (6-1) on the court of fourth ranked Geneve Lions on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Geneve Lions 91-84. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Neuchatel. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Neuchatel won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Geneve Lions made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Neuchatel turnovers. American power forward Juwann James (198-87, college: JMU, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) chipped in 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Quinton Day (185-84, college: UMKC) with 26 points and 5 assists and Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Geneve Lions and four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Defending champion (4-3) moved-up to third place, which they share with Fribourg and Monthey. Neuchatel at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Lugano Tigers. Geneve Lions is looking forward to face Boncourt (#7) on the road in the next round. Neuchatel will play against Starwings (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
