Regular Season Round 5: Slask Wroclaw - Energa Czarni 67-65

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Energa Czarni (4-1) on the court of eighth ranked Slask Wroclaw on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Slask Wroclaw 67-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Energa Czarni. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-9. But Energa Czarni won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Robert Skibniewski (182-83) contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Roderick Trice (190-84, college: S.Carolina) answered with 7 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import power forward Keith Wright (203-89, college: Harvard) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Energa Czarni. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Slask Wroclaw (3-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Anwil and Rosa Radom. Energa Czarni at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Stelmet ZG. Slask Wroclaw is looking forward to face Rosa Radom (#6) on the road in the next round. Energa Czarni will play against Asseco (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
