Regular Season Round 7: Istanbul B.B. - Darussafaka 62-80
Date: November 9, 2013
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Darussafaka (#1) and Istanbul B.B. (#6). Istanbul B.B. was crushed at home by 18 points 62-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. Darussafaka led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Darussafaka especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a great evening for American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import power forward Lawrence Roberts (206-82, college: Mississippi St.) helped adding 12 points. Five Darussafaka players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Cem Coskun (209-87) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tufan Onen (202-89) scored 3 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darussafaka maintains first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Yesilgiresun. Istanbul B.B. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Darussafaka is looking forward to face Bandirma Kir. (#17) in Balikesir in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Istanbul B.B. will play on the road against Gelism (#12) in Izmir and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
