Regular Season Round 15: Miami Heat - Milwaukee B. 118-95

Date: November 12, 2013
The Miami Heat made mincemeat of the Milwaukee Bucks' defense for the better part of 48 minutes, rolling the Bucks 118-95 at home behind LeBron James' 33 points. The Heat shot over 58 percent from the floor and made 13 of their 23 shots from behind the arc. The Bucks were essentially powerless to slow Miami's attack despite finally holding an opponent to a respectable offensive rebound total (5). The Bucks were led by 18 points each from John Henson and Gary Neal, who combined to shoot 13-21 off the bench. Larry Drew designed a starting unit with the intention of countering Miami's small-ball lineup, but the matchups were stacked against the Bucks from the start. With little in the way of interior defense to stop them the Heat turned the early portions of the game into a layup line, scoring 20 points in the paint in the first quarter. The Bucks only kept things "close" in the first half thanks to good shooting from deep: for a good portion of the game they were shooting better from outside the arc than inside it. This has been a consistent problem for Milwaukee so far this season, as the Bucks rank just 27th in 2P%. Mario Chalmers also played well for the Heat, recording a 15/4/7 line with zero turnovers. He was a menace on defense and did a great job distributing the ball, an area where he's shown significant improvement this season. Michael Beasley added 19 points on 8-12 shooting in just 20 minutes. Brandon Knight led the Bucks with 6 assists in 24 minutes off the bench, showing good aggressiveness and making a couple slick interior passes (Montaesque, if I do say so myself) to John Henson for dunks. However, he also committed four turnovers thanks to some overzealous dribbling in traffic. Caron Butler struggled with his shot all night, shooting 4-15 from the field for 10 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo committed 3 more sloppy turnovers but also hit 3-5 three-point shots and grabbed four rebounds (two offensive). Courtesy of: brewhoop.com
