Regular Season Round 4: Al Arabi - Al Khor 75-78

Important game to mention about took place in Doha. Sixth ranked Al Khor (5-4) saved a 3-point derby victory on the road edging 4th ranked Al Arabi (6-3) 78-75 on Thursday evening. The winners were led by American guard Jamarr Hardy (191-83, college: Lenoir CC) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists and 6 steals and Senegalese forward Moustapha Niang (206-83) supported him with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Hardy is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists by American swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) did not help to save the game for Al Arabi. Serbian-FYR Macedonian forward Nenad Zivcevic (204-87) added 15 points and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Khor moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al Jaysh. Al Arabi at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Al Gharafa. Al Khor will play against league's leader Al Rayyan in Doha in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al Arabi will have a break next round.
