Regular Season Round 7: Kumanovo - Karpos Sokoli 81-72

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Karpos Sokoli (1-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Kumanovo 2009 (5-1) 81-72 on Saturday. Karpos Sokoli trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 22-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-81 at the end of the game. Forward Marjan Janevski (203-88) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Royce Parran (175-85, college: Chicago St.) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Five Kumanovo 2009 players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (203-85) produced 32 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Croatian guard Aleksandar Ugrinoski (192-88, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kumanovo 2009. Kumanovo 2009 moved-up to second place, which they share with Kozuv and Lirija. Newly promoted Karpos Sokoli keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Feni Indistrija. Kumanovo 2009 will meet league's second-placed Lirija in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Karpos Sokoli will play against Feni Indistrija (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
