Regular Season Round 6: Windsor Exp. - Brampton A's 103-105

Date: November 18, 2013
The Windsor Express couldn’t complete a fourth-quarter rally Monday and fell 105-103 on the road to the Brampton A’s at the Powerade Centre. It was the second loss in three games for Windsor, which beat the A’s by 16 points at home Sunday. “They’re a good team and their record doesn’t lie,” Express guard Darren Duncan said of the 5-2 A’s. “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy. They’re a solid team.” Trailing by five points entering the fourth quarter, the Express rallied to take a one-point lead in the final 10 seconds. A Brampton three-point shot gave the A’s the winning margin as Stefan Bonneau’s shot rolled out as the clock expired. “It went in and out,” said Duncan, who had 16 points and nine assists. “We had a good look and it was in and out. We’ll take that shot nine out of 10 times.” Windsor’s two-point lead after the opening quarter turned into a five-point deficit after the Express allowed the A’s 30 points in the second quarter and 33 in the third quarter. “We pride ourselves on our half-court game,” Express head coach Bill Jones said. “We can’t give up 30 points in a quarter.” Jones was also concerned with how hard his guard tandem of Duncan and Bonneau, who had 22 points and 11 rebounds, had to work all game. “It’s the way teams are playing us,” Jones said. “They’re playing us physical and getting guys out of rhythm. “Bonneau’s the leading scorer in the league and Duncan was the best guard in the league last year. They know those guys are the head of the team. To get to the body, you have to cut off the head and that’s what they’re doing.” The two are still putting up points, but Jones is concerned about much work it’s taking to get them. “Everything’s a tough one-on-one move,” Jones said. “Nothing’s easy. They have to go to second, third and fourth moves to score.” The Express fought back Monday, but Duncan and Kevin Loiselle, who had 11 points, both ended up fouling out. Chris Commons, who was back from a one-game suspension, led all game scorers with 33 points. “I ended up in foul trouble and Kevin, so we have to find a better way to stay out of trouble,” Duncan said. The Express return home Thursday to face The Island Storm at the WFCU Centre. Game time is 7 p.m. Courtesy of: windsorstar.com
