Regular Season Round 23: San Antonio S. - Boston C. 104-93

Date: November 20, 2013
Patty Mills sat at his locker before Wednesday’s game against the Boston Celtics and issued a warning. Mills was watching film and reading a scouting report on the Celtics. He said the Spurs would not take them lightly; that the Celtics would be energized after losing to the Houston Rockets a day before. Mills was right. The Celtics did come out with some energy in the first quarter as they took a 25-22 lead, and even went into the half tied at 48, but the Spurs outscored the Celtics 32-22 in the third quarter and pulled away with a 104-93 win. Tony Parker led the way with 19 points and five assists, Kawhi Leonard added 16 points and eight rebounds, and Tim Duncan finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Duncan’s shooting struggles continue as he went 3-for-13 against the Celtics, and even let a bit of frustration creep in. He was issued a technical foul for arguing a non-call late in the third quarter. He did finish the game 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. The win was the Spurs’ eighth straight, as they have now won nine of their last 10 games. Avery Bradley, Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger each finished with 19 points for the Celtics. The loss was Boston’s fifth straight loss. Dating back to last season, the Celtics are now 0-3 against San Antonio in their last three meetings. The Spurs also improved to 4-0 against Eastern Conference teams this season. Up next, the Spurs will travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies on Friday. San Antonio defeated Memphis 101-94 the first game of the season. Courtesy of: mysanantonio.com
