Regular Season Round 6: The Island S. - Windsor Exp. 86-90

The Island Storm loss 90-86 Thursday to the Windsor Express to start its first Ontario road trip of the National Basketball League of Canada season. The Storm falls to 4-3 while the Express improves to 4-2. The Express led 27-21 after the first quarter and 51-42 at the half. The Island squad cut the deficit to three (66-63) to start the third, but could not complete the comeback. Chris Commons had 21 points for the Express while Darren Duncan added 20. Greg Plummer led the Storm in scoring with 22 points while Shawn Vanzant had 19, Antonio Ballard 16 and Amani Daanish 13. Ballard had 14 rebounds while Al Stewart had nine assists. The Storm had more rebounds, assists and steals, but had six more turnovers and only shot 46 per cent (11-for-24) from the free-throw line. The Storm is in Ottawa tonight to play the SkyHawks (2-2) at 8:30 p.m. Atlantic. They are home Sunday to play the Brampton A’s at 2 p.m. Courtesy of: theguardian.pe.ca
