Regular Season Round 25: Minnesota T. - Brooklyn N. 111-81

Date: November 22, 2013
Jason Terry said the Nets needed time to "reflect" after their loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Following the Nets' lethargic 111-81 loss in Minnesota Friday night, they might need an all-out intervention. Joe Johnson delivered 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting and Andray Blatche poured in 16 points off the bench. That summed up the Nets' offense. The Nets competed once again without Brook Lopez, Deron Williams, and Andrei Kirilenko, but those in the lineup played like they had as much interest in the game as the fans watching at home. Paul Pierce, who the Nets brought in to make a significant contribution, shot 2-for-11 from the field. His defense represented Walt Frazier's patented "matador" style. While the Nets have incurred injuries (Terry also missed the game), not many teams get to trot out Johnson, Pierce, and Kevin Garnett. The Nets imagined they would contribute to the team in some fashion. The Nets continue to wait, especially on the Boston duo. The scary thing for the Nets is the T'Wolves didn't play particularly outstanding. Minnesota shot 41.2 percent from the field and four starters shot went 50 percent. Kevin Love set the night's pace with nine points and 11 rebounds in the first quarter. The Nets trailed by 20 points at halftime and clawed to within 16. Garnett (eight points, eight rebounds) subsequently took flagrant and technical fouls on the same play and sent his former team on a 16-0 run. The coaches did not wait long to empty their benches. The Nets dropped to 3-9 as the nightmare opening to the 2013-14 season continues. They'll return home to face the Toronto Raptors Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Courtesy of: examiner.com
