Regular Season Round 25: Portland TB - Chicago B. 98-95

Date: November 22, 2013
The Portland Trail Blazers stormed all the way back from 21 points to steal a game at home by defeating the Chicago Bulls 98-95, extending their winning streak to nine games. Portland (11-2) outscored Chicago (6-5) 34-12 in a pivotal third quarter. Wesley Matthews is playing the best ball of his career and it continued tonight as he led the team with 28 points on 12-of-19 shooting. Damian Lillard started off sluggish but picked it up by going for 20 points and six assists. Nicolas Batum chipped in 17 points and eight boards. The Trail Blazer really buckled down on defense in the second half. In the game’s first 16 minutes, Luol Deng had already put up 11 points and 10 rebounds. However, he only finished the game with 15 points and 14 rebounds Carlos Boozer had 16 points, seven rebounds and Kirk Hinrich added 13 points off the bench. Chicago suffered a scare. Derrick Rose, who was having his best game of the season with 20 points, exited the game with an apparent right knee injury at the end of the third quarter and would not return. At one point during a timeout in the third quarter before he departed, he attempted to scoot down a couple of seats so his teammates could sit down but he struggled mightily to do so. He had to lean on the team’s trainer to depart to the locker room as he couldn’t put weight on that right leg. Portland will now head to California to take on the Golden State Warriors Saturday night at Oracle Arena. Courtesy of: csnnw.com
