Regular Season Round 7: Moncton M. - St.John M.R. 97-109

The Saint John Mill Rats notched their first home win of the season by beating the Moncton Miracles 109-97 in front of 1,749 fans at Harbour Station. The Mill Rats started strong today and led 27-19 after the first quarter. Moncton hung close to get within 53-48 at the half. In the third quarter, the Mill Rats began clicking getting scoring from Tyrone Levett, Doug Herring, and Anthony Anderson. Anderson's behind the back pass for the two handed slam by Herring brought the home fans out their seats as Saint John built a 20-point lead. The Miracles did not fold as they rattled off a 20-6 run to close within 80-74 by the end of third. The Mill Rats were able get 29 points on the board in the fourth two keep the Miracles at bay and wrap up their first home win of the season in three tries. Tyrone Levett led the Mill Rats with 25 points and 9 rebounds, Anthony Anderson 22, Chris Doug Herring Jr 16, Chris Matthews 14, and Casey Love 11. Saint John improves their record to 6-3 on the season and maintains 1st place in the Atlantic Division. Moncton drops to 2-6.
