Regular Season Round 6: Ulster Rockets - TM Hotel Cork 56-82

Date: November 24, 2013
The game with biggest result difference took place in Belfast. Local Ulster Rockets (2-4) were outscored by sixth ranked TM Hotel Cork (2-2) 82-56. TM Hotel Cork dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Ulster Rockets' 32. They outrebounded Ulster Rockets 45-29 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. TM Hotel Cork players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American forward Emilee Harmon (188, college: Ohio St.) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Claire Rockall (178-90, college: Iowa St.) supported her with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds by American guard Kerri Shields (175-90, college: Boston Coll.) did not help to save the game for Ulster Rockets. Guard Mairead McNally (175-88, college: Stetson) added 5 points and 8 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TM Hotel Cork moved-up to fifth place. Ulster Rockets at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. TM Hotel Cork's next round opponent will be league's second-placed WIT Wildcats in Waterford and it may be quite challenging game. Ulster Rockets will play on the road against 11890 Killester (#7) in Dublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
