Regular Season Round 9: Stade - Oldenburg 71-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Stade's (2-7) home loss to ninth ranked Oldenburg (4-5) 71-85 on Sunday. The game without a history. Oldenburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American guard Michael Taylor (193-87, college: Whitworth) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Paul Albrecht (205-93) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. Oldenburg's coach Mladen Drijencic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Reggie Hopkins (180-88, college: Queens, NC) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and guard Steffen Kiese (189-87) added 13 points in the effort for Stade. Oldenburg moved-up to seventh place in Group North, which they share with Hertener Loewen and Bochum. Stade lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Oldenburg will face Bochum (#8) at home in the next round. Stade will play against Spot Up Medien Baskets and hope to win that game.
