Regular Season Round 7: Slask Wroclaw - Stelmet ZG 74-82

Leader Stelmet ZG delivered the sixth victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Slask Wroclaw (3-4) 82-74. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Slask Wroclaw won fourth quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stelmet ZG made 27-of-34 charity shots (79.4 percent) during the game. Slask Wroclaw was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) contributed with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) answered with 22 points and American Dominique Johnson (196-87, college: Azusa Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 15 points in the effort for Slask Wroclaw. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stelmet ZG have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-1 record. Newly promoted Slask Wroclaw keeps the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Asseco. Stelmet ZG will play against bottom-ranked Stabill Jezioro (#12) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Slask Wroclaw will play at home against Asseco (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
