Regular Season Round 9: Dresden - Fraport SKY II 78-56

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Fraport Skyliners II (4-5) was outleveled on the road by first ranked Dresden (8-1) 78-56 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Dresden. Fraport Skyliners II was better in second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dresden dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Fraport Skyliners II's 30. Dresden forced 21 Fraport Skyliners II turnovers and outrebounded them 35-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American Andrew Jones (191-83, college: Miles) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Max Jentzsch (197-90) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dresden's coach Thomas Krzywinski felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Max Merz (184-94) answered with 13 points and center Tim Oldenburg (202-92) added 12 points in the effort for Fraport Skyliners II. Dresden maintains first place in Group South with 8-1 record, which they share with Hanau. Fraport Skyliners II at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Dresden will face TV 1862 Langen (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fraport Skyliners II will play against Licher Baeren and hope to win that game.
