Regular Season Round 9: Recanati - Roseto 68-83

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Roseto and 11th ranked Recanati had identical 4-4 record. But Recanati was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Roseto 83-68 on Sunday night. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Roseto's pressure prevailed and they won that period 23-15 extending their advantage to 15 points. American guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Kevin Sowell (190-81, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Sowell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Roseto players scored in double figures. American swingman Sean Mosley (192-89, college: Maryland) came up with 23 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and naturalized American power forward Ryan Pettinella (206-84, college: Virginia) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Recanati in the defeat. Roseto (5-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Agrigento and Chieti. Loser Recanati dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Roseto will meet at home Chieti (#6) in the next round. Recanati will play against Matera and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
