Regular Season Round 15: Trakai - Zalgiris II 73-66

NKL top team - Trakai (11-3) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked Zalgiris II (6-8) 73-66. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 24-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for center Edvinas Jezukevicius (207-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. Four Trakai players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Donatas Tarolis (202-94) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Justas Tamulis (194-94, agency: Beo Basket) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Trakai maintains first place with 11-3 record, which they share with Mazeikiai. Zalgiris II at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Zanavykas. Trakai is again looking forward to face Zalgiris II (#10) in Kaunas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris II will have a break next round.
