Regular Season Round 8: TianJin S. - Foshan LL 115-100

There was a small surprise in Tianjin where eleventh ranked TianJin Steel (4-4) defeated 9th ranked Foshan (4-4) 115-100 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by TianJin Steel. Foshan was better in second period 34-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when TianJin Steel won last quarter 30-16. They shot 60.3 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Foshan turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Foshan's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) who added 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) during the contest. American guard Gerald Fitch (191-82, college: Kentucky, agency: SportsTalent) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and forward Xuhang Zhu (207-93) scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Five TianJin Steel and four Foshan players scored in double figures. TianJin Steel moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Foshan. TianJin Steel will face higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#5) in Yingkou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
