Regular Season Round 8: Usak - Tofas 75-71

Date: November 30, 2013
Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Usak (6-2) beat at home 8th ranked Tofas (4-4) 75-71. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tofas was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 24-16 charge of Usak, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Tofas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Usak players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by American guard Marcus Denmon (190-90, college: Missouri) did not help to save the game for Tofas. Slovenian forward Jure Balazic (204-80) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Usak moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Tofas at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Usak's next round opponent will be Turk Telekom (#9) in Ankara and are hoping to win another game. Tofas will play at home against TED Kolejliler and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
