Regular Season Round 11: Monaco - Lourdes 86-72

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (5-6) lost on the road to third ranked Monaco (8-2) 86-72 on Saturday. Serbian forward Milutin Aleksic (203-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Monaco players scored in double figures. Center Raphael Giaimo (210-89, college: Seward County CC) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and forward Steven Ricard (197-90) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Lourdes-Tarbes. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Monaco have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Lourdes-Tarbes dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Monaco will face Montbrison (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Cognac BB and hope to win that game.
