Regular Season Round 16: Zalgiris II - Trakai 56-74

Very expected game in Kaunas where 10th ranked Zalgiris II (6-9) was defeated by second ranked Trakai (12-3) 74-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Trakai. Zalgiris II managed to win third quarter 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trakai forced 23 Zalgiris II turnovers and outrebounded them 34-19 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) fired 17 points for the winners. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (197-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Lukas Lekavicius (176-94) produced 9 points and 4 assists and forward Donatas Tarolis (202-94) added 8 points respectively for lost side. Zalgiris II's coach Tomas Masiulis rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Trakai have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Mazeikiai. Zalgiris II lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with nine games lost. Trakai is looking forward to face league's second-placed Mazeikiai on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zalgiris II will have a break next round.
