Very predictable result when second ranked Legia (8-1) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Korsarz Gdansk (0-9) 97-45 on Saturday. The game without a history. Legia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Korsarz Gdansk to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Legia dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Korsarz Gdansk's 34. Legia forced 28 Korsarz Gdansk turnovers and outrebounded them 53-26 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Legia made 8 blocks. Center Damian Cechniak (208-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners and center Krystian Kozluk (205-94) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Legia players scored in double figures. Legia's coach Piotr Bakun felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Pawel Ossowski (200-92) with 13 points and center Adam Szurzynski (205-98) scored 5 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Legia. They maintain second place in Group A with 8-1 record behind leader Nowa Sol. Korsarz Gdansk lost their ninth game in a row. They still closes the standings with nine games lost. Legia will face AZS UMK Torun (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Korsarz Gdansk will play against SMS PZKosz (#11) in Wladyslawowo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
