Regular Season Round 8: Energa Czarni - Trefl Sopot 81-77

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Trefl Sopot (5-2) against fourth ranked Energa Czarni (6-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Trefl Sopot was defeated by Energa Czarni in a tough game in Slupsk 77-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Trefl Sopot. It was a great shooting night for Energa Czarni especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Roderick Trice (190-84, college: S.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 rebounds and Marcin Dutkiewicz (198-86) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. International swingman Adam Waczynski (199-89) responded with 23 points and American center Bertengeh Gadri-Nicholson (208-83, college: Denver) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Energa Czarni moved-up to third place. Trefl Sopot at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Energa Czarni will play against AZS Koszalin (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Trefl Sopot will play against Rosa Radom (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
