Regular Season Round 11: London L. - Mississauga P. 91-95
Date: December 5, 2013
Nick Okorie scored a game high 35 points to lead the Mississauga Power past the London Lightning 95-91 last night in National Basketball League of Canada action at the Hershey Centre. Okorie score 13 points in the first period nailed six three-pointers to spark the home side to victory. But he made his biggest shot when he hit a huge three-pointer with 1:15 left in the game to put Mississauga ahead by four points and snuff out a late Lightning rally. Teammate Mark Gomilla chipped in with 14 points. Alex Johnson converted a key lay-up and added the foul with 45 seconds left in the game to seal win for the Power. "We played hard defence tonight and that ignited our offence," said Okorie. "I just played my game tonight. I was taking shots in rhythm because the defence was creating easy shots for me. When defence goes well, everything else runs smoothly." The Power improved to 5-8 with the win. They continue a three game home stand next Wednesday night when the Windsor Express roll back into town. Courtesy of: mississauga.com
