Regular Season Round 11: Bochum - Stade 90-72

Date: December 7, 2013
Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Bochum (5-6) won against at home 11th ranked Stade (2-9) 90-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-72. Bochum made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Kendrick Easley (185-87, college: Mount Olive) who scored 27 points and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Ryon Howard (198-84, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Bochum players scored in double figures. American guard Reggie Hopkins (180-88, college: Queens, NC) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Joscha Kolnisko (200-90) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bochum moved-up to seventh place in Group North, which they share with Recklinghausen. Stade lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Bochum will face Hertener Loewen (#9) on the road in the next round. Stade will play against BSW Sixers in Sandersdorf and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
