Regular Season Round 8: Crnomelj - Koper 93-80

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Crnomelj (4-4) defeated at home 11th ranked Koper (2-6) 93-80. The game was mostly controlled by Crnomelj. Koper was better in second period 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by guard Crt Ristic (182-89) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!), 6 assists and 6 steals and power forward Anze Cerkovnik (200-86) supported him with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Crnomelj's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists by guard Jan Barbaric (185-95) did not help to save the game for Koper. Forward Leon Santelj (201-95) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Crnomelj moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Koper at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Crnomelj's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Radenska (#14) in Murska Sobota and are hoping to win another game. Koper will play at home against the league's second-placed Plama Pur and hope to win that game.
