The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Skopje: Rabotnicki (#2) and Vardar Apave (#8). Rabotnicki (8-1) smashed visiting Vardar Apave (2-7) by 38 points 107-69. The game was mostly controlled by Rabotnicki. Vardar Apave managed to win third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rabotnicki shot 62.9 percent from the field and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Rabotnicki outrebounded Vardar Apave 37-24 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Vardar Apave's players. Serbian center Dusan Knezevic (207-80, agency: BeoExcell) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Darko Sokolov (190-86) chipped in 27 points and 7 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Rabotnicki players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Uros Vasiljevic (201-88, college: Kenyon) responded with 17 points and power forward Milivoje Trifunovski (205-85) scored 10 points. Vardar Apave's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Rabotnicki keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kozuv. Vardar Apave lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. Rabotnicki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vardar Apave will play at home against Kumanovo 2009 (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
