Very expected game when 8th ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (9-8) lost to third ranked Halcones Rojos (16-5) in Veracruz 69-78. Halcones UV Xalapa was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Halcones UV Xalapa 47-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican forward Renaldo Balkman (201-84, college: S.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and international guard Francisco Cruz (190-89, college: Wyoming) who added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures.
